Caeleb Dressel has done it again.

About eight hours after breaking the Olympic record on his way to a gold medal in the 100-meter freestyle at the Tokyo Olympics, the former Clay High School and University of Florida swimmer achieved another record in the preliminaries of the 100 butterfly.

Dressel touched the wall in 50.39, easily winning his preliminary heat Thursday morning and staying on course for the next stage of the 100 fly.

The Olympic record he tied belonged to Dressel's former Bolles Sharks teammate, Joseph Schooling, who swam 50.39 to defeat Michael Phelps in the 2016 Olympic final in Rio de Janeiro.

On Wednesday night, Dressel captured his first individual gold medal in the Olympics, winning the 100 free in an Olympic record 47.02.

The former Gator has two gold medals already at these Games and could win as many as four more in Tokyo, including the 100 fly, where he enters as the world record holder.

Dressel's former Bolles Sharks teammates, Santo Condorelli and Joseph Schooling, did not qualify for the 100 fly semifinals in their respective heats. Condorelli placed eighth in his heat in 52.32, while Schooling also came in eighth in his heat in 53.12.
